A final approval of phase 1-2 studies of malariotherapy for HIV/AIDS was obtained from these three levels of review boards.

Through a couple of institutional board discussions, a final approval of phase I studies (no more than 10 cases) of malariotherapy for HIV infection in Guangzhu was obtained from the board.
The board was the US-based Great Lakes College of Clinical Medicine Institutional Review Board (GLCCM IRB). Dr. Chen's research supported by the Fogarty International Center grant for training supervised by Professor John Fahey at UCLA (both 2003 studies) should have reviewed and approved by the UCLA IRB, as SLU surely knows.
